Bad service ALWAYS!

So I go to McDonals almost every morning on my way to work for a sweet tea. And almost every morning 1 of 2 things (or both like what happened this morning) happen when they hand me my tea. 1) there is tea all over the outside of the cup and it gets on my hands or drips on my clothes 2) they put so much in the cup that when I put the straw in it overflows through the straw hole. I know you don't have to have a high school education to work there, but why can't they be more careful or wipe the freaking cup off before they hand it to people?! Just because they work at a fast food restraunt doesn't mean they can't take pride in their work like other people do or be considerate of their customers. !@#$@#@!$@#%!!

Makenna's room

One of Chuck's friends paints murals for a living and we are thinking of having  him paint something like the picture in Makenna's room. We are thinking of putting a chair rail a little over halfway up the wall and painting the bottom a solid color and then the mural above it.

Funny stories from the day

I didn't get much sleep last night (like maybe 2 hrs if that)....something about Chuck snoring for like 5hrs straight, so I took the day off because my head was hurting really bad when I woke up...it still is come to think of it. So, I got to spend an extra day with Makenna, which is always nice. Here are a couple of funny things she's done/said today.

I "tooted" while standing beside her and she looked up at me and goes, "Oh mom...go to the bathroom."  HAHAHA  Now, if we could only get her to go to the bathroom and not in her diaper.

Earlier she was scooting across the floor on her butt and I asked her what she was doing..."I itching my butt mommy."  Is she turning into a dog?  :-)

We were playing hide and seek and I jumped out from the couch and scared her pretty good and she screamed and goes, "I sorry mommy" and gave me a hug.

We were yelling for Chuck but he had already gone outside and we didn't know so I would yell, "Chuck" and Makenna would yell, "Chuck". (She says his name really good, mine is more of a Hetter). Then when he didn't answer she said, "He no hear us mommy."

Incredible Dave's

Last night we went to Incredible Dave's for one of our neighbor's little girls birthday party. It's kind of like Chuck E Cheese but bigger, better, and made for older kids/adults as well. We had a ball. Chuck and I didn't play anything really except for with Makenna, but she was in heaven. She spent most of her time in the blow up bouncy thing for the little kids but she did play a few games as well. I didn't get any pictures for 2 reasons: 1) I could barely keep up with Makenna let a lone a camera too and 2) I tried taking a picture with my phone but since Makenna was bouncing it was hard to focus. I'm thinking that this place is maybe sounding pretty good for future birthday parties for Makenna! I can't wait until her cousin Kyndall is a little older and the we can take the two of them there to play together.

When the lights go out...

So, ever since Makenna was about 9 months old, we've layed her in her bed awake and just let her fall asleep. Of course that was a lot easier to do when she was still in her crib. Since she's been in her big girl bed for the last almost 8 months, there have been some rough nights. I put one of those plastic door knob things on the inside of her room and we shut the door after we lay her down. At least if she gets out of bed, she's stuck in her room (don't worry we still have the baby monitors to hear what's going on). Last Friday was a half day for me and when I got home from work Makenna was starting to get sleepy so we both layed down in the living room and took a nap. I kept thinking that I was smelling either apple juice or pee (as strange as it sounds they both smell the same to me) and couldn't figure out where it was coming from but just thought Makenna had probably spilled juice somewhere. So that night when Chuck gets home he tells me how when he went in to wake her up Friday morning, all of the letters on her wall that spell her name were laying in her bed and she was completely naked all wrapped up in her blanket, the same blanket she was taking a nap with...so it turns out I really was smelling pee.

Reason 1 million why I'm not having anymore kids!

Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter more than I thought I could ever love anything in the world and I would do anything for the crazy girl, but I truly think that God only meant me to be the mother of one child. Some women have the patience to handle being the mother of more than 1 (not to mention the mental capacity) and I just don't think I'm one of those women. And besides, in my book Chuck counts as a 2nd child already. (If there are big spaces between the pics I don't know why because it doesn't look like that while I'm editing).

This is what happens when you don't pay attention to what a 2 1/2 year old is doing for about 20 minutes...at least mine anyways. Notice the two blinds that are partially broke (that actually happened a while back, but still). She used that little pink basket as a step stool to get the lotion from the top of the dresser (as you will see in the next 2 pictures).

That would be lotion, like almost half of a bottle (there's way more down inside that you can't see).

toes and fingers

I painted Makenna's fingers and toes yesterday. It's amazing how nonstop she is but she sat so still and let me do this.

One time while shopping....

A couple of months ago while waiting what seemed like an eternity in the check out line at Mejier, Makenna was starting to get antsy. So, I started making faces and sounds at her to try and get her to laugh. I guess I was making a grunting sound and had a straining look on my face because she said, not loud enough for the entire store to hear but not soft enough for just me either, "Mom, are you pooping?"

Looking so pretty...

Look at my girl looking so pretty and so big!

I no love you anymore mom

So, Makenna has been in a mood today. She was getting into something she wasn't supposed to be getting into (see picture) and I picked her up and took her to the living room and told her not to do it anymore. She was mad, looked at me and said, "I no love you anymore mom." WHAT?! That's not supposed to happen for a long time I thought. And just yesterday she told me I was her best friend.

From Jan 2009

Over winter break Makenna and I spent the majority of my time off together, and it was great! And she was so loving towards me, coming up and giving me random hugs and kisses. Normally when I'm working, she gives me the cold shoulder when I come home, like she's mad that I left her...and whoever watched her that day is all she'll have anything to do with. So, being able to spend some quality time with her was wonderful. Well, the day finally came when I had to go back to work shortly after the new year. That afternoon my mom had gone to Walmart and I needed to get some groceries so I just met her over there after work and we hung out for a while. I put Makenna in the cart and put my hands on it to push it and she pushed me off and said, "no mommy, get away from me. I want nana to do it." Oh really...so, nana pushes the cart. At one point I asked for a hug but Makenna said no, so I grabbed her anyways and gave her a big hug. Again, she pushed me off of her and said get away from me. (Where did she learn this get away from me thing anyways....). So I tell her she's mean to me and walk ahead of the cart (trying to get a guilt hug from her). She yells out mommy look. So, I turn around a look and she waited for me to make sure I was looking at her and reaches out and gives my mom a big hug...as if saying, HA HA HA! That little booger!

Going into labor...August 23, 2006

<>

So on the day that would be the 1st of my weeklys (I was at 36 weeks) I joked at lunch that I was going to tell the doctor to just go ahead and get this baby out of me. I hadn't been feeling all that great for the last few days, becoming more tired and constantly having diahrrea (little did I know this was an early sign of labor). So I go to my check up and explain to Dr. Reily how I've been feeling and she tells me that I'm 4cm dilated and 70% effaced. I asked if she was going to tell me to just go ahead and walk over to the hospital but she said no but that I wouldn't last another 4 weeks either. Chuck came home extremely early from work that day...I think he was a bit nervous that it was going to happen at any moment. We have dinner, Tacos (I'll probably always remember), watch some TV, and go to bed. Nothing out of the ordinary. I was still having some cramps, but I thought it was because of the whole diahrrea thing. About 10-15 min after going to bed, I turned over and liquid squirted out of, where, you know. I just layed there with my eyes wide open. In my head, "What was that? Was that pee? Did my water just break? I thought it was going to be like a big gush, that wasn't a big gush." So, I finally conviced myself it was okay to move and went to the bathroom. My underwear was soaked and when I wiped it was a bit mucousy looking. I was still cramping but afraid this was false labor and didn't want to get Chuck out of bed to go the hospital just to be sent home, so I went and layed down on the couch to try and see if this passed. About 1hr or so of laying there, the cramps started to hurt in my lower back and I pretty much knew this had to be labor. So, I wake Chuck up and tell him it's time to go to hospital. Well, Chuck is just stupid when he first wakes up. I really mean that. He can't even begin to comprehend anything you say to him and he literally runs into stuff for like 30 min. So, he thought I was waking him up for work...I guess he felt rested considering it was about midnight. :-) So, our normal work morning routine is me already having his coffee fixed and waiting for him and turn the weather channel on. Well, when Chuck went into the kitchen for his coffee it wasn't there and then he tried to find the weather channel but couldn't. I in the meantime, was putting make up on and fixing my hair a little (I wasn't going to be seen looking like total poop even if I was about to have a baby). He heard me blow drying my hair and came and stood in the doorway of the bathroom. He asked me what time it was, "1AM." "Are we going to the hospital?" DUH! So, I did have our bags already packed which was a good thing, and Chuck takes them out to the car. Our car is weird, if you lock it by the locks on the door instead of the button on the keychain the alarm doesn't set. But if you lock it with the button and then open it with the actual key, the alarm goes off...which it did, at 1AM for all of the neighbors to hear. I think Chuck was still in his stupid state. haha So, we finally get everything in the car and get to the hospital and get checked in. I was in labor for a total of about 18-19 hrs if you count from when my water broke, and the last 3 was spent pushing (the girl had/has a big head). At one point during pushing, I guess nothing too exciting was happening, and Chuck fell asleep standing up. The nurse was like, "Do you need something to drink?" Yeah, a beer. hehe Then at 6:30PM that next night Makenna Rose came into this world screaming her head off...I don't think she's ever stopped. HAHA

Just some stories....

So, now that I've gotten my blog pretty much caught up for the past 2 1/2 years with pictures, I decided to add some stories from during that time as well (any that I can remeber that is). I'll try to do it in separate posts so they don't last forever.

For the first story I think it only appropriate to start out with how we found out we were pregnant. We had just gotten engaged on Christmas Eve of 2005 (pregnant at the time but didn't know). In January of 2006 I started taking Masters classes. We were still living in Milton, KY so I was driving 45-50 min to work in the mornings every day and then the same in the afternoon 3 days a week. 2 days a week I stayed in Charlestown until time for class and I wasn't getting home until 10PM. So, I was pretty tired. Well, I guess I must have complained about being tired and the fact that my breasts were hurting me more than the normal period hurt for about 2 weeks and Chuck finally told me he thought I should take an EPT test. WHAT?! An EPT test? I couldn't be pregnant: I was on birth control, I was still having a period, I wasn't finished with my masters, WE WEREN'T MARRIED YET! Pregnant? I personally thought Chuck was crazy. But later that week I bought a couple of EPT tests. Chuck was putting up the groceries and came across the box and was like, "Oh...well, I'll finsih putting up groceries while you do this." :-) So, I pee and we wait for the 15 min to pass by (longest 15 min of my life). I don't know if I really couldn't tell what the test was saying or if I just didn't want to believe what it was saying, so Chuck said to let him see it. So I handed it to him pee and all. haha Sure enough, I was pregnant. Let's just say that I was a little in shock, maybe denial. I didn't fully accept this as the truth until about 2 weeks later when I went to the doctor where it was confirmed...then I became excited.

Snow/Ice Storm Jan 2009

So we had another big winter storm this year. We didn't get as much snow as we did last year but we got a lot of ice this year that caused many power outtages (some may still be without power and it's been 3 weeks). And because the temps stayed cold, it took until this past weekend (2 weeks later) for things to really melt away. We missed 4 days of school as a result (up to 9 days missed counting the 5 from IKE). If they don't give us any waivers for the school days, we're looking at June 9th as our last day. YUCK! Here are a few pictures from the storm.

Makenna and daddy doing some sledding.

Looks like the kid off of The Christmas Story.

A snow covered neighborhood.

The ice looked like this on everything. The trees were so pretty but so dangerous at the same time.

January 2009, 28-29 months old

Playing with her Aunt Robin at the Eisen family reunion in Angola, IN.

Playing video games with her big bro Cory. (Doesn't that lighting from the window make the top of this picture look weird?)

Getting geared up to go outside in snow at the reunion.

Swimming with Daddy.

December 2008, 27-28 months old

It's hard to tell here but her eyes are showing as blue in this pic. My teeth had that same gap in them when I was her age.

This is her look if there ever was one. She's too pretty!

Listening to her new toy MP3 player nana got her.

Notice the ropes on her closet. They were there to keep her out...she found a way in but couldn't get out and this is how we found her at like midnight.

Kissing the ornaments.

November 2008, 26-27 months old

Giving the tree a hug....I guess everything could use a little love now and then.  :-)

Makenna and her cousin, Jacy. This is a lot like me and Jacy when she was a baby.

Looking too pretty on Thanksgiving.

October 2008, 25-26 months old

I don't really have anything to say about this picture, except her Daddy let her do it. haha

WEEEEEEE! On the swing at memaw Randi's.

Running as fast as she can to get away from the stroller in the middle of the zoo for trick or treat day.

Mad because I made her sit down to pose.

Daddy and his little witch...hehehe

August 2008, 23-24 months old

So I guess I'm the worst mother in the world because I didn't get any pictures of her 2nd birthday and someone (AHEM SHAUNA) never sent me the ones that she took. We had like 40 people here for a cookout (I'm being serious about the 40 people too!). It was just too hot to have it outside so everyone packed into our basement where the kiddos ran around like little crazy people and the adults just watched in amazement of their energy. hehe  It was a good time but I'm thinking after 2 parties at the house, Chuck E Cheese is sounding pretty good for the rest. haha I do have her 2yr pics.

Visualize this one on its side. She's just a big silly goose.

Her and her little cousin Kyndall (6 weeks).

MMMMMM! Nothing like the smell of fake flowers!

July 2008, 22-23 months old

Playing the duck game at the fair.

Riding the merry go round. I have a picture of her on the big slide too but it's not good quality...SHE LOVED THE BIG SLIDE! Thrill seeker in the making!

Playing in the mini water park at the zoo. This was a very tiring day!

Just haning around (hehe)....4th of July.

BIG GIRL BED!

June 2008, 21-22 months old

SUMMER FUN!

Playing on her new play gym.

Climbing the rock wall...notice she doesn't use the rocks.

Is that not the cutest little butt you've ever seen!?

Long enough for pigtails...playing the pool that Daddy would later throw away because he thought it was stupid.  @#$%#@$@!

VRRROOOM!

April 2008, 19-20 months old and May 2008, 20-21 months old

So evidently I didn't take any pictures at all during these months because I can't find any. I think I was absorbed with Senior Class Officer duties preparing for Graduation and Honors Day at school.

March 2008, 18-19 months old

This was our big snow fall last year, about 10-14 inches.

HEHEHE   I promise she didn't roll all the way down the hill.

WEEEE!   Having fun with Daddy.

Visiting Shawn  and Shauna...and learning how to play some cornhole.

Just too pretty!

February 2008, 17-18 months old

I think that 4 of these 5 pictures COMPLETELY explain why when people ask me if I want anymore kids I say NO!

This one kind of reminds me of a cat or dog with something stuck on its head. LOL!
